The Employment Guide® Announces the Introduction of
CareersInGear.com
Norfolk, VA,
March 12, 2007 - The Employment
Guide® (www.EmploymentGuide.com)
is proud to announce the introduction of its transportation website, Careers In
Gear (www.CareersInGear.com), which
went live on February 14, 2007. The site will be officially introduced at this
year's 36th Annual Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), held in
Louisville, Kentucky, over March 22-24, 2007.
In addition to providing a recruitment
destination, CareersInGear.com is an innovative business that includes
resources for the trucking industry. The site includes
the "Freight Finder" which is a free scrolling service to assist owner
operators and others in finding truckloads[e1] for pick-up and drop-off at various locations nationwide. The site has
also partnered with The Weather Channel (www.weather.com)
to provide weather mapping software, as well as the Google search appliance for
easy site navigation. Another distinct site feature is the feed of trucker
news, which includes recent developments on working conditions, training and
advancement, product launches, laws, and other useful information.
In addition to the website, CareersInGear.com
will also be a quarterly publication covering five regions nationwide. The free print publications will be distributed in over 750 locations
regionally and 3,600 nationally. Drivers will be able to pick-up this targeted
publication in stores like Petro, Pilot, Loves, and Wal-Mart, as well as
independent truck stops, restaurants and rest areas.
"CareersInGear.com is created for the
industry, by the industry," said Chris Baker, Business Development Manager
of CareersInGear.com. "After nine months research, we were able to provide a
one-stop shop for trucker jobs, news, and resources specific to the industry.
The quarterly publication will serve as a complement to our website, and will
position it as an industry leader."
Jeff Littlejohn, Vice President/General
Manager of The Employment Guide commented, "Although CareersInGear.com
has been online for a little over a year, we listened to our clients and job
seekers to design a more comprehensive website for the trucking and
transportation industry. We feel that it is going to be very well received as a
result, "
