The Employment Guide® to Sponsor a Major Job Fair in New Orleans
Norfolk, VA,
March 9, 2006 - The Employment
Guide® (www.EmploymentGuide.com)
is proud to announce a forty-two booth job fair to be held at the Clearview
Mall in New Orleans on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This fair will include major employers like UPS, Chase Bank, and Marriott, and
is the largest fair sponsored by The Employment Guide since Hurricane
Katrina.
"The response from local companies to our job fair
opportunity has solidified the fact that these companies along with The
Employment Guide are committed to assisting the New Orleans citizens in
rebuilding the workforce. We have been, and will continue to be, providing
connections between the work force and the companies needing to hire," said
David Harmon, General Sales Manager of the New Orleans Employment Guide.
The New Orleans edition of The Employment
Guide launched in October 1999, reaching 1,200 distribution points by the
summer of 2005. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, The Employment
Guide stopped production for a little under two months before returning to
the market bi-weekly in October 2005, covering about 650 distribution points.
Due to the dedication of the New Orleans Employment Guide staff, the
publication will return to weekly distribution after April 1, 2006.
"We have been providing the leading
recruitment advertising vehicle in this city since 1999. The level of
participation in this event is the result of solid business relationships
forged over a period of years," said Robert Lacey, District Manager of The
Employment Guide. "We are proud to be a part of the rebuilding of this
great city."
A week after the job fair, The Employment
Guide will be hosting a virtual job fair to allow the employers another
opportunity to reach job seekers. Local schools and career resource centers
will also be encouraged to post links on the virtual fair. Tulane University,
Louisiana State University and Delgado Community College are among some of the
schools that will inform their students of this job fair. To log onto the
virtual fair, the job seeker can log onto EmploymentGuide.com, click on
Louisiana on the national map, and access the banner ad. This virtual fair will
go live on Monday, March 27, 2006.
